U20 Women's World Cup Costa Rica 2022: FIFA appoints a refereeing team of 54 women

On 01/06/2022, FIFA published a list of 54 women (13 central referees, 27 assistants and 14 video assistants, document available to download) who will referee the 32 matches of the Women's U20 World Cup organised in Costa Rica from 10 to 28/08/2022.

"The FIFA U20 Women's World Cup is the next important milestone in the preparation of the potential candidates for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023," said Pierluigi Collina (ITA), chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee.

"The FIFA U20 Women's World Cup will not be only the first FIFA youth women's tournament in which the VAR technology will be used, but it will be also the first competition in which the team of video match officials will be all women," said Kari Seitz (USA), head of women's refereeing at FIFA.
