Bundesliga: 21,038 spectators on average per game (-48.5%) & average fill rate of 48.8% in 2021-22

The 18 Bundesliga clubs drew an average of 21,038 spectators per game during the 2021-22 season, down 51.6% from the 2018-19 season (43,450 spectators) - the last to be played in full without any capacity restrictions - and down 48.5% compared to 2019-20 (40,880 spectators), a season in which the last nine matches were played behind closed doors due to Covid-19 (the 2020-21 season was played nearly exclusively behind closed doors for the same reason). As a result, a total of just 6.4 million spectators attended stadiums in the German top flight in 2021-22, half as many as in previous seasons.

The Bundesliga, which usually leads the European Top 5 in terms of attendance, ended the 2021-22 season in second-to-last place, far behind the Premier League (average attendance of 39,989) but ahead of the Serie A TIM (18,358).
