2021-22 Premier League: an average audience of 507,000 viewers in the USA, a record since 2016

The 2021-22 Premier League matches broadcast in the United States on NBC, USA Network, CNBC and NBCSN (US media and entertainment conglomerate NBCUniversal) posted an average audience of 507,000 viewers (+21% compared to the 2020-21 season), according to figures released by NBC Sports on 24/05/2022.

The 2021-22 season was the second most-watched Premier League season in US television history after 2015-16. These figures do not include audiences on Spanish-language networks or on the OTT platform Peacock (NBC).

12 matches in the 2021-22 season drew an average of at least 1 million viewers, a single-season record since NBCUniversal (a subsidiary of US telecoms and media conglomerate Comcast) began its broadcasting deal with the Premier League in 2013. The 1-1 draw between Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC drew an average of more than 1.4 million viewers on the free-to-air channel NBC on 28/08/2021. The game was the most-watched Premier League match ever in the United States.
