UEFA/CONMEBOL: launch of new events between Europe & South America after the 2022 Finalissima

UEFA and CONMEBOL are launching new events including women's football, futsal and youth teams from both confederations, following the success of the sold-out "Finalissima 2022" at Wembley Stadium in London (ENG) which saw Copa América winners Argentina beat Euro 2020 winners Italy 3-0 on 01/06/2022, announced the European and South American bodies on 02/06/2022.

⚽️ Youth competitions: the Club Atlético Peñarol (URU) youth team, winners of the 2022 edition of the U20 Copa Libertadores, will face SL Benfica (POR), winners of the 2021-22 Youth League at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo (URU) on 21/08/2022.

⚽️ Futsal: Euro 2022 Futsal winner Portugal and third-ranked Spain will meet 2022 Copa América Futsal winner Argentina and second-placed Paraguay in a four-team final phase at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires (ARG) on 16-18/09/2022.
