Premier League: Southampton FC adopts contactless payments with the bracelet BPAY band

Southampton FC (Barclays Premier League) has adopted contactless payments with the BPAY band developed by Barclaycard, part of Barclays bank, announced the club, 19/09/2014.

Barclaycard and Green 4 Solutions, British sports agency that specialise in customer relations, have joined forces to develop the BPAY band. Equipped with a smart contactless payment, the bracelet allows cardholders to make purchases up to £20 (€25.50). Fans equipped with BPAY bracelet can save time by placing orders via dedicated concourse lanes in the various outlets of St. Mary's Stadium (32,000 seats).

This bracelet is free, for now, and available to season ticket holders of the club. With each use of the BPAY band, fans will be automatically entered in a contest for a hospitality package, stated the club. They will also have access to special deals on merchandising products.

Southampton are the first football club to adopt this payment system.
