LaLiga Santander: Premier Sports renews broadcasting rights in the UK and Ireland

The pay-TV channel Premier Sports has renewed its full and exclusive broadcasting rights to LaLiga Santander, for the UK and Ireland, until 2025, announced the Spanish league on 07/06/2022.

"Additionally, Premier Sports has confirmed that LaLigaTV, the competition's 24/7 channel offering all live matches, will remain available on Amazon Prime Video channels and the Premier Sports Player. Premier Sports looks forward to providing further detail regarding distribution of LaLiga programming during the lead-up to the 2022-23 season, which kicks off in mid-August," explained the Spanish league.

Premier Sports has held the exclusive full broadcast rights to the Spanish top flight in the UK and Ireland since the 2019-20 season.

The American streaming platform Fite had originally submitted the highest bid to acquire the broadcasting rights to the Spanish league for the 2022-23 season during a call for tenders in February 2022. However, discussions were not concluded following a disagreement over the payment schedule, according to specialised media.
