The British car manufacturer Land Rover is to become a "worldwide partner" (first level) of the Women's Rugby World Cup 2021 (to be played in New Zealand in 2022), according to World Rugby on 08/06/2022.

"This commitment will extend to the New Zealand tournament where a fleet of new electric hybrid Defenders will help the running of the tournament. Fifty-two youth mascots will be selected as 'Defenders of Tomorrow'. Children from across New Zealand and beyond, will be chosen for their passion and dedication to changing their world for the better. On top of this once-in-a-lifetime experience, the youngsters will actively influence and determine the post-tournament legacy for Defender and Rugby World Cup 2021," explained the body.

Land Rover, a major partner of the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France (08/09 to 28/10/2023) and official car of the Top 14 since 2011-12, joins Mastercard (payment solutions), DHL (logistics) and Capgemini (IT services and consulting) as "worldwide partners" of the 2021 World Cup.
