Warner Bros. Discovery: Luis Silberwasser appointed chairman and CEO of sports

Luis Silberwasser has been appointed chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports (parent company of sports media groups Turner Sports and Eurosport), announced the US media and entertainment conglomerate on 10/06/2022. He will report to David Zaslav, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery.

"In this new role, Silberwasser will lead the company's domestic (USA) sports portfolio and oversee a unified, global sports strategy," said the group.

"Silberwasser most recently served as president of TelevisaUnivision, Inc. U.S. Networks Group, where he led the growth of its broadcast and cable networks as well as the entertainment, news, and sports content and programming strategies. Earlier, Silberwasser spent 16 years at Discovery Communications, Inc., where he held several positions of increasing leadership responsibility, most recently as executive vice-president and chief content officer at Discovery Networks International.
