RC Strasbourg Alsace: a clean-up operation in the Meinau area where the club's stadium is located

RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), in partnership with the city of Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin, FRA) and the Eurometropole, organised a "Clean Walk" operation in the Meinau district, where its stadium is located, on Wednesday 08/06/2022. "In a spirit of conviviality and solidarity, a total of 187 people took part in the waste collection," said the club on 10/06/2022.

In two hours, the participants collected 3.4kg of cigarette butts, i.e. between 16,000 and 20,000 (a cigarette butt can pollute 500 litres of water), 94kg of all kinds of waste, 26kg of glass, 14kg of paper, cardboard and plastic, for a total of nearly 142kg of rubbish. "The first objective of this operation was to clean up the neighbourhood, but also to maintain and strengthen the link with local groups. This initiative was also an opportunity to raise awareness among all the businesses in the area of this major cause in the preservation of the environment, for which we all have a role to play," added the Strasbourg club.
