Ligue 1 Uber Eats/Ligue 2 BKT: players to be numbered from 1 to 99 (instead of 1 to 30) from 2022-23

"Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT players will be able to wear a shirt number ranging from 1 to 99 from the 2022-23 season. The regulations have been reviewed: article 576 of the LFP regulations has been modified and validated by the board of directors on 08/06/2022," announced the LFP on 13/06/2022.

This article 576 ("Numbers and Names") only provided for numbers from 1 to 30 in 2021-22:
• "Players likely to play in the first team shall be assigned a number for the year.
• Each club must establish the list of number assignments 72 hours before the start of the competition.
• This list may not exceed 30 names, so number 30 is the last on the list, which may be completed and updated with each movement within the club."

Two exceptions were however tolerated (numbers 40 and 33):
1) "Numbers 1, 16 and 30 are exclusively and compulsorily reserved for goalkeepers. As a last resort, the number 40 may be assigned.
2) All teams must have a shirt numbered 33, not allocated to a player and reserved for last-minute replacements."
