Euro 2020: Three consortiums are candidates to build, finance and use EuroStadium in Brussels

"The stadium report is moving in the right direction, it will be entirely managed by the city of Brussels. At the time being, we are negotiating with three consortiums. The definitive decision should be reached by the end of 2014," said Alain Courtois, president of Brussels 2020 (the company that represents the Belgian Euro 2020 candidacy) on 19/09/2014. The EuroStadium in Brussels is among the 13 stadiums chosen on 19/09/2014 by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) to host the Euro 2020.

"The selected consortium will take care of the design, the construction, the financing and the management of the stadium. The Belgian Football Federation will not be, and has never been, an investor nor a promoter. It will be at most a possible tenant," explained Alain Courtois.

The Belgian manufacturer Ghelamco, which built the stadium of KAA Gent (Jupiler Pro League, Belgian first division, stadium inaugurated in 2013), and the Dutch company BAM, which renovated the stadium of the Feyenoord Rotterdam (Eredivisie, Dutch first division), partnered to form the Brussels Arena Maximus group…
