Summer transfer window 2014: Premier League clubs deal more with each other then with foreign clubs

The 20 Barclays Premier League clubs conducted the majority of their transfer expenditures and revenues within the Premier League itself during the summer transfer window in 2014 (from 10/06 to 01/09/2014). The amount of transactions between the Premiership clubs amounted to €307.2m, representing 55.9% of the transfer revenues (€549.4m) and 29.5% of transfer expenditures (€1,042.2m) of the Premier League in the summer of 2014.

The Spanish Liga BBVA, the top European championship in the UEFA coefficient (Union of European Football Associations) standings on 19/09/2014, is the second league in terms of revenues (€97.5 million, 17.8% of total revenue) and spending (€292.8m, 28.1% of total expenditures) for Premier League clubs, behind the Premier League itself.

Outside its borders, the English first division trades first and foremost with the other Top 5 European Championships. Liga BBVA, Bundesliga, Serie A TIM and Ligue 1 constitute 38.7% of the transfer spending in the Premier League (€402.9m) and 31.4% of its total revenue (€172.5m).
