FFF: number of clubs in National 1, National 2 & National 3 to decrease from 250 to 178 in 3 years

The French National 1 championship will remain unchanged with 18 clubs, the National 2 championship will be reduced in three stages (in 2023, 2024 and 2025) from 64 to 48 clubs (-25%, with three groups instead of four) and the National 3 championship will be reduced from 168 to 112 clubs (-33.3%, with eight groups instead of 12), this means that the total number of clubs in the senior men's national football championships will be reduced from 250 to 178 (-28.8%). This is the outline of the reform approved by the FFF federal assembly in Nice (FRA) on 18/06/2022.

This reform included in the federal plan "Performances 2024" (and adopted with 81.09% of votes) pursues several objectives, according to the French Football Federation:
⚽️ "To create an elite by tightening up the pyramid to make it more coherent at the top level and to strengthen the structure of clubs playing in the national championships,
⚽️ respond to the desire of clubs and leagues to develop the National 3
⚽️ adapt the pyramid to the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 reforms (which move from 20 to 18 clubs in 2023 and 2024 respectively),
