Premier League: Bruce Buck, chairman of Chelsea FC since 2003, to step down on 30/06/2022

Bruce Buck, chairman of Chelsea FC (Premier League) since 2003, will step down as of 30/06/2022, announced the club on 20/06/2022.

The departure of the American lawyer, who will continue to support Chelsea FC as a senior advisor, is part of the new dynamic set in motion for the club by its new owner (since 30/05/2022), a consortium led by the American Todd Boehly and the California (USA) based investment fund Clearlake Capital, which also includes the Swiss Hansjoerg Wyss and the American Mark Walter. Bruce Buck arrived at the club just after its takeover by Russian Roman Abramovich, for whom his firm had previously worked on several acquisitions in other sectors.

"During Buck’s chairmanship, Chelsea solidified its position as one of the world's elite football clubs and a globally recognised brand followed by millions. In that time, the men's team earned 18 major trophies (more than any other English club) while Chelsea FC Women won 12 major trophies," said the London club.
