Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk will face Britain's Anthony Joshua in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) on 20/08/2022, announced Matchroom Boxing on 19/06/2022.

This match will serve as a rematch after a first bout between the two men in London (ENG) on 26/09/2021 (win for Usyk). Saudi Arabia previously hosted the heavyweight boxing fight between Anthony Joshua (GBR) and Andy Ruiz (MEX/USA) on 07/12/2019 in Dariya.

Saudi Arabia is confirming its ambitions in the world of sport, as LIV Golf Investments, a new golf company in which the Public Investment Fund (PIF) "is the majority shareholder", has launched a new golf circuit to compete with the PGA Tour. The PIF completed the acquisition of 100% of Newcastle United FC (Premier League) on 07/10/2021 as well as the acquisition of esports event organiser ESL Gaming on 24/01/2022.
