OL Groupe: Eagle Football Holdings (USA) in exclusive negotiations to acquire a majority stake

Holnest (Jean-Michel Aulas' family holding company), Pathé (film production and distribution, cinema operations, FRA) and IDG Capital (investment fund, CHN) have announced that they have "entered into exclusive negotiations with Eagle Football Holdings, LLC (holding company combining the interests of John Textor and Jamie Salter, USA) in relation to the aquisition by the latter of a majority equity interest in OL Groupe, followed by a simplified mandatory tender offer," said the holding company that owns Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) on 20/06/2022.

Several American investors have recently expressed interest in acquiring a significant stake in OL Groupe after learning on 09/03/2022 that shareholders Pathé (19.26% of the capital) and IDG Capital (19.74%) wanted to sell their shares. The agreement envisaged today also includes the shares of Holnest (27.56%), i.e. 66.56% of the share capital in total. Unlike Pathé and IDG Capital, Holnest will retain 50% of the Osrane (bonds redeemable in new or existing shares, issued in 2013 and maturing on 01/07/2023) that it holds.
