Manchester City FC Supporters Club join legal action against UEFA's financial fair play

"(The) Manchester City FC Supporters Club voted unanimously to join the legal actions against UEFA's (Union of European Football Associations) financial fair play (regulations) led by lawyers (Jean-Louis) Dupont and (Martin) Hissel (complaint to the European Commission and civil action in the Brussels’ Court). These actions were initiated by some football players agents and fans from the United Kingdom, France and Belgium," read a statement on the MCFC Supporters Club website on 24/09/2014.

"Far from implementing a true financial fair play, this rule is in fact a prohibition to invest that prevents ambitious owners to develop their clubs," continued the statement. "The UEFA rule may be bad news for MCFC supporters, but it is even worse news for supporters of all clubs that do not today belong to the established European elite." The MCFC Supporters Club claims to have more than 15,000 active members.
