1.2 million tickets for the 2022 World Cup which will start on Monday 21/11/2022 in Qatar have already been sold at the end of the second sales phase (05 - 28/04/2022), according to Hassan Al-Thawadi, secretary general of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the entity in charge of organising the competition, during the "Qatar Economic Forum" in Doha (QAT) on 22/06/2022.

A total of 40 million ticket applications have been registered, 17 million in the first phase (19/01 - 08/02/2022) and 23 million in the second. In total, there are just over 3 million tickets available: 2 million for sale and 1 million reserved for FIFA and its partners.

"I think the demand for tickets has been record breaking. People are buying and are excited to come, there's no doubt about that. We're trying to create an environment where the business community benefits but at the same time, it is affordable and accessible for the fans as well, which is not always easy to balance," explained Hassan Al-Thawadi.
