Benfica: "First Portuguese club to surpass €200m in terms of turnover" (D.S. de Oliveira)

The Benfica Lisbon group achieved a consolidated turnover of €204m in the 2013-14 fiscal year (from 01/07/2013 to 30/06/2014), announced Domingos Soares de Oliveira, the administrator of Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Futebol, SAD, the company that owns Benfica (Primeira Liga, POR) on 19/09/2014. This figure represents a 30.8% increase compared to 2012-13 (€156m).

"Benfica is the first Portuguese club to surpass €200m in terms of consolidated turnover," said Domingos Soares de Oliveira to the Portuguese economic daily newspaper Diário Económico on 19/09/2014. "From now on, we expect our revenues to continue to increase significantly (...) and that Benfica will continue to adhere to the financial fair play criteria," added the administrator of the SL Benfica company.

In the documents submitted to the CMVM, the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, on 17/09/2014, Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Futebol, SAD achieved a turnover (including the capital gain on the sale of player contracts) of €184.7m in the 2013-14 fiscal year. This figure represents a 27.4% increase compared to 2012-13 (€145m).
