Belgium: Paul Van den Bulck elected as chairman of the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA)

The RBFA board has unanimously elected Paul Van den Bulck as chairman for a two-year term, announced the Royal Belgian Football Association on 21/06/2022.

Paul Van den Bulck, 57, a lawyer in Brussels (BEL) and Paris (FRA), is the first independent chairman of the Association. He had joined the board of directors as an independent director in 2021. "After the introduction of independent board members in 2021, this is another milestone in the process of good governance at the Belgian Football Federation, which started almost 4 years ago," said the RBFA.

The former executive committee of 23 elected members has been replaced by a board of 10 members who are both the only ones who can stand for election and the only ones who can vote.

Paul Van den Bulck succeeds Robert Huygens, who has been interim chairman since the departure of Mehdi Bayat, whose mandate was due to terminate at the end of June 2022, but who resigned on 27/05/2021.
