Athletic Club Bilbao: Jon Uriarte Uranga elected president by delegate members (46.7% of the vote)

Jon Uriarte Uranga has been elected president of Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) for four years following a vote by the club's delegate members, held for the first time at the Estadio San Mamés (Bilbao, ESP) on 24/06/2022. Uranga succeeds Aitor Elizegi, who has held the post since his election on 27/12/2018, and becomes the 33^rd president of the Basque club.

Jon Uriarte received 46.71% of the votes (10,979), ahead of Inaki Arechabaleta (33.72%) and Ricardo Barkala (18.13%). A total of 23,506 members took part in the vote, representing a turnout of approximately 58.4%.

Jon Uriarte is an entrepreneur from the Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley investment banks, and is currently the head of All Iron Ventures, a Bilbao-based investment fund with €500m in assets under management. In 2009, he co-founded Ticketbis, a ticket resale company (sports, concerts and shows), which was sold to eBay in 2016 for €165m.
