Premier League: Gloops, Japanese video game producer, extends with Manchester United for 2014-15

Gloops, the Japanese video game producer, extended its partnership with Manchester United (Barclays Premier League) in 2014-15, the club announced on 24/09/2014. The two parties have been partners since 2013-14.

Specialising in mobile games and social gaming, the Gloops company, founded in 2005, launched the management game "European Club Team Soccer Best Eleven Plus” in 2013. It has been dowloaded 1.4m times. Gloops promotes the game in Japan through its partnership with the Red Devils.

The Japanese video-game producer also organises events to promote Manchester United's football academy in Japan.

Manchester United achieved a record turnover of £433.2m (€543.1m) during the 2014 fiscal year (from 01/07/2013 to 30/06/2014), a 19.3% increase compared to 2013 (£363.2m, €455.2m). Partnerships enabled the Red Devils to make a sponsorship revenue of £135.8m (€170.2m) in 2014, a £44.9m (€56.3m) increase, or +49.4%, compared to 2013 (£90.9m, €114m).

  • Gloops also has a partnership with the baseball franchise Texas Rangers (MLB).
