Netherlands: less consumer interest for pay-TV channels Fox Sports and Sport1 (according to study)

"(The) Dutch show less interest for one or more subscriptions to pay-TV channels," according to a study by Telecompaper, the Dutch research institute that specialises in media and telecommunications, conducted between January and June 2014 and published on 23/09/2014.

The company publishes its "Telecompaper Consumer Panel," every six months, which compiles a hundred questions asked to a panel of more than 30,000 Dutch consumers on their consumption habits of TV, smartphones, tablets and computers.

Thus, the number of subscribers to the Dutch pay-TV sports channels Sport 1, Fox Sports International and Fox Sports Eredivisie remained stable throughout the six months, according to Telecompaper. In June 2014, 2 to 3% of the consumers surveyed said that "they were (very) likely to subscribe to Fox Sports International or Fox Sports Eredivisie," a figure that remained stable compared to January 2014.
