OGC Nice: "As we start this new phase, it's time to raise our ambitions" (J. Ratcliffe)

"As we close the first chapter of Ineos ownership after three years and start this new next phase we believe this is the time to raise our ambitions," wrote Jim Ratcliffe, owner of the chemicals group, and of OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), in a letter to the club's supporters on 27/06/2022.

The Ineos group officially acquired OGC Nice in August 2019 and is therefore preparing to celebrate three years at the helm of the club. This is an opportunity for Jim Ratcliffe to reaffirm his commitment to the club by presenting a series of changes that primarily concern its sporting policy through the increased role of Dave Brailsford, director of Ineos Sport (since December 2021), the appointment of a new coach (the Swiss Lucien Favre to replace Christophe Galtier) and the probable departure of Julien Fournier, director of football ("We know that Julien has a future elsewhere than at OGC Nice," declared Jean-Pierre Rivère, president of OGC Nice, on 27/06/2022), which is however not mentioned in Ratcliffe's letter.
