France/European Cups: Canal+ acquires all 2024-2027 broadcasting rights (€480m), CL final free on M6

Canal+ has acquired all broadcasting rights in France for the men's European Cups (Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League) for the 2024-2027 cycle from UEFA via the Swiss agency TEAM Marketing, announced the French pay and free-TV group on 29/06/2022.

These rights were acquired for a sum of €480m per season, according to the French sports daily L'Équipe, which also indicated that Canal+ will be able to sublicense part of these rights to other broadcasters.

The free-to-air rights to the Champions League final, over the same period, were acquired by the free-TV group M6, for €4m per season, according to L'Équipe.

The rights to the Champions League for the 2021-2024 cycle are held by Canal+ (Tuesday and Wednesday fixtures), beIN Sports (other matches) and TF1 (free-to-air final), for an estimated €375m per season. The Europa League and Europa Conference League rights are held by the M6 group (top fixture free-to-air), Canal+ (top fixture for pay-TV) and RMC Sport (other matches), for an amount estimated at between €20m and €35m per season by News Tank Football.
