FC Barcelona: Sixth Street acquires 10% of the club's domestic TV rights for 25 years (€207.5m)

Sixth Street, an international investment company, has acquired 10% of FC Barcelona's (LaLiga Santander) TV rights from LaLiga for 25 years for a sum of €207.5m, announced the club on 30/06/2022.

The deal comes almost two weeks after Barça's delegate members voted in favour of two major economic projects for the club presented by its management: the sale of a 49.95% stake in Barça Licensing & Merchandising, the club's subsidiary dedicated to the development of its merchandising products (physical shops, online sales and licensed products), and of up to 25% of its domestic TV rights. With a high level of debt, Barça are seeking to attract investors quickly through this double operation, which could bring in a total of around €600m, the target the club has set itself.

"With this transaction, FC Barcelona generates a total capital gain of €267m for the current season," said the club.
