Stade de France incidents: first results of UEFA's independent review expected end of September 2022

The independent group set up by UEFA following the incidents in the vicinity of the Stade de France (Saint-Denis, Paris, FRA) during the Champions League final on 28/05/2022 "has set a timeline for its preliminary findings at the end of September 2022 and aims to have the final report delivered and published by November 2022," announced UEFA on 01/07/2022.

These "distressing events", during the final between Liverpool FC (Premier League) and Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) (0-1) on Saturday 28/05/2022 prevented 2,700 people with valid tickets from attending the match and led the organisers to delay kick-off by 35 minutes.

UEFA decided on 30/05/2022 to commission an independent review of the events surrounding the Champions League final.

"The comprehensive review will examine decision making, responsibility and behaviours of all entities involved in the final," said UEFA on 30/05/2022, adding that the report would be "independently compiled" and led by Dr Tiago Brandao Rodrigues (POR).
