United States: NBC to close its linear channel "Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA" on 30/09/2022

NBCUniversal will close its Olympic-dedicated linear channel "Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA" on 30/09/2022, announced the US media and entertainment conglomerate on 01/07/2022.

"In order to best reach our target audiences, we are reevaluating our programming distribution strategy regarding the content that currently airs on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA with our partners at the IOC and USOPC (United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee)," said NBC.

The IOC, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and NBCUniversal signed a partnership, for the United States, revolving around the Olympic Channel for the production of content and distribution of the channel, on 15/12/2016. The Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA was officially launched in July 2017, and offers year-round sports content centered around the performances of American athletes.
