LaLiga Santander: Villarreal CF to open an academy in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), their 2^nd in Asia

Villarreal CF (LaLiga Santander) will open an academy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in August 2022, announced the club on 04/07/2022. This will be the second football academy launched in Asia by the club, which is already present in South Korea (in Seoul).

"Villarreal Malaysia Academy is aimed at youngsters from three years old to 21 years old. In 2022, the new academy will have the capacity to work with more than 400 players and 20 members of coaching staff. The official Villarreal CF academy plans to expand its reach by opening centres all over the country," said the club, which has 17 academies and four affiliated clubs internationally. 

"Players will not only have the chance to train under the methodology of a leading European soccer club, but will also have opportunities to visit Spain to train with or play friendly matches against Villarreal CF Academy teams," added the Spanish club.

• Villarreal CF recently opened an academy in Chicago (USA) on 05/05/2022, and signed a collaboration agreement with Provo Athletic Club (Utah, USA) on 13/05/2022.
