Ligue 1 Uber Eats: 29 million additional fans for PSG on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter in 2021-22

The 20 clubs that participated in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 Uber Eats have a total of 173.3 million fans on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as of 01/07/2022, up 33.7 million from 01/08/2021, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. The Ligue 1 Uber Eatsis the fourth most popular European Top 5 league on these three social networks combined, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander and Serie A TIM, with an average of nearly 8.7 million fans per club.

Paris Saint-Germain is the most followed club with over 119 million fans. The 2021-22 French champions gained 29 million additional followers (+32.3%) over the entire season, 81% of which were on Instagram alone. This increase is mainly due to the arrival of Argentine player Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) on 10/08/2021. No other club in the European Top 5 has experienced such growth, with the Parisian club ahead of Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, +25.4 million fans) and Manchester United FC (Premier League, +23.9 million).
