Serie B: Massimo Zanetti increases his share in Bologna FC, expected to become majority shareholder

"Massimo Zanetti said he would proceed with a capital increase of Bologna FC (Serie B, Italian second division)," stated the club on 25/09/2014.

The owner of the Italian coffee brand Segafredo, Zanetti should become the majority shareholder of the club, said the regional newspaper Corriere di Bologna on 25/09/2014. The amount of the acquisition by Massimo Zanetti has not been disclosed.

Massimo Zanetti, 66, had already purchased the entire share capital of Bologna FC on 23/12/2010, before selling the majority of his shares to Albano Guaraldi in March 2011. Club president since 2011, Albano Guaraldi should continue in his position at Bologna FC, said the Corriere di Bologna.

"This time we hope to stay longer, maybe five years, so that Bologna FC can occupy the place it deserves," stated Luca Baraldi, who is on the board of Bologna FC to represent the interests of Massimo Zanetti, to the Gazzetta dello Sport on 26/09/2014. "The capital increase is a personal investment of Massimo Zanetti," said Luca Baraldi.
