DNCG: Bordeaux's relegation to National 1 confirmed by FFF appeals committee, club to call on CNOSF

The FFF appeals committee has confirmed the DNCG's decision to relegate FC Girondins de Bordeaux to the National 1, announced the French club on 05/07/2022.

The control committee for professional clubs (which sits within the LFP), "as part of the examination of the situation of clubs for the 2022-23 sports season in application of article 11 of the DNCG regulations" (document available to download), had in fact decided on the relegation to the third division of the club that had already been relegated to Ligue 2 BKT (after finishing 20^th and last in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 Uber Eats) on 14/06/2022.

"The club is stunned and confused by this decision. The club and its majority shareholder (businessman Gérard Lopez, ESP/LUX) put forward a financial strategy which was widely acknowledged by experts to be robust and reasonable, responding point-by-point to the issues raised by the financial committee three weeks ago," said Girondins de Bordeaux.
