Wimbledon: Sky Deutschland extends rights in Germany, Austria and Switzerland until 2023

Sky Deutschland has extended its exclusive broadcasting rights in Germany and Austria as well as its non-exclusive rights in Switzerland to the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament with the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) until 2023, announced the pay-TV operator on 07/07/2022. The new agreement could last until 2026, according to German media.

"The new agreement also includes broadcasting via IPTV, web and mobile. This means that Sky customers have the opportunity to enjoy the tennis elite live, in addition to linear broadcasting, via the Sky Go mobile streaming service, whether at home or on the move. Tennis fans can also watch the entire tournament live via the WOW streaming service, which can be terminated monthly," explained Sky Deutschland, which will launch a dedicated tennis channel in July 2022.

Sky Deutschland has held exclusive broadcasting rights to Wimbledon since 2007. Sky Italia also extended its exclusive broadcasting rights in Italy to Wimbledon until 2026 on 27/06/2022.
