Xavier Thuilot is to leave his post as deputy CEO of Angers SCO (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) on Friday 08/07/2022, according to the French regional paper Le Courrier de l'Ouest the same day. The former CEO of LOSC Lille, RC Lens and AS Saint-Étienne joined Angers in September 2021.

"We had a meeting with the president (Saïd Chabane) at the end of the championship, we took stock and he came to the conclusion that it was not working. We thought it was better for everyone to stop," said Xavier Thuilot to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 09/07/2022.

"This position only works when there is a delegation, if not total, at least very important. This is not necessarily the tradition at Angers SCO. I have no bitterness or sourness towards the president. We had one season, the result was not up to our respective expectations (the club finished 14th in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 Uber Eats table). My only regret is that I wasn't able to give the full measure of my experience in this field," he added, while the sale of the club to the American investment fund GFC has been underway since early June 2022.
