Paris 2024: 549 events and 22 para sports on the Paralympic Games programme (28/08-08/09/2024)

22 para sports will be on the programme of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games for a total of 549 events spread over 269 sessions, leading to 3.4 million tickets to be sold for 11 days of competition (one less than in Tokyo in 2021) from Thursday 29/08 to Sunday 08/09/2024, announced Paris 2024 upon the presentation of the calendar of competitions for each session at the Paralympic Games (document available to download), on 07/07/2022.

No event will be scheduled on the day of the opening ceremony, Wednesday 28/08/2024, "so that all para athletes taking part have the opportunity to drink in this once-in-a-lifetime event," explained the organisers.

"There will be a very strong start to the Games: 11 out of the 22 sports will be contested on the very first day of the competition, Thursday 29/08/2024. A balanced programme throughout the duration of the Paralympics, with one of the team sports (wheelchair rugby) concluding on day 5 of the Games, on Monday 02/09/2024," added Paris 2024.
