LaLiga Santander: WhaleFin (crypto), main shirt sponsor of Club Atlético de Madrid (2022-2027)

WhaleFin, a cryptocurrency trading platform owned by Amber Group (SGP), has become the main shirt sponsor of Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga Santander) for five seasons (2022-2027), announced the club on 11/07/2022.

The deal is valued at €42m per season, nearly triple the amount paid in 2021-22 (€15m) by Plus500 (GBR, broker), the Spanish club's main shirt sponsor for the 2015-2022 cycle. WhaleFin also became the sleeve sponsor of Chelsea FC (Premier League) "from 2022-23" in a deal valued at £20m (€23.3m) on 12/05/2022, the most lucrative sleeve sponsorship deal in the European Top 5.

In addition to displaying its logo on the front of Madrid's shirts, "Amber Group will have exclusive rights to establish 'Atletiverse', a virtual island supported by Openverse, the company’s Web3 enablement platform for creators, brands and businesses.
