Women's Euro 2022: with 248,075 spectators after 16 matches, competition record already broken

The first 16 matches of the Women's Euro 2022 finals have drawn a total of 248,075 spectators, breaking the record set during the 2017 edition in the Netherlands (240,055 spectators for 31 matches), announced UEFA on 17/07/2022.

England - Austria (1-0, Group A), opening match of the competition, had previously broken the attendance record for a Women's Euro match by hosting 68,781 spectators at Old Trafford (Manchester, ENG) on 06/07/2022, thus improving on the previous nine-year-old attendance record held by Germany - Norway (2013 final), which drew 41,301 spectators at the Friends Arena (Solna, SWE) on 28/07/2013, by 66.5%.

A third record has also already been broken during this 2022 edition: the number of spectators present at a Women's Euro match not involving the host country (excluding the final), with 22,596 spectators for Switzerland - Netherlands (1-4) at Bramall Lane (Sheffielf, ENG) on 17/07/2022.
