FIFA: president of the Asian Confederation supports the candidacy of Joseph Blatter

"Joseph Blatter has decades' worth of experience in governing world football, therefore I have every confidence that he will continue to play an important role in its development," said Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa (Bahrain), the president of AFC (Asian Football Confederation) on 29/09/2014.

This statement comes after the formalisation of the candidacy of Joseph Blatter, the president of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), for a fifth term as president of the organisation, on 26/09/2014.

  • The deadline for submitting nominations for the presidency of FIFA is set for 29/01/2015, four months before the scheduled election on 29/05/2015, in Zurich (SUI) at the annual congress.
