Borussia Dortmund: GLS (logistics) succeeds Opel as sleeve sponsor from 2022-23

GLS Germany, the national subsidiary of the Dutch parcel delivery service, has extended its partnership with Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) and become its sleeve sponsor for all competitions from 2022-23, announced the club on 18/07/2022.

The new agreement covers all Borussia Dortmund teams (men's, women's and youth). GLS became the German club's "logistics partner" (second level) in July 2021, and was displayed on BVB's shirt sleeves in the DFB-Pokal and in UEFA's European competitions during the 2021-22 season. The logistics service was also already present on the sleeve of the club's women's team, which was established in 2021-22.

GLS succeeds the German car manufacturer Opel, which has been a partner of Borussia Dortmund since 2012-13 and was the club's sleeve sponsor for the 2017-2022 cycle for an estimated €7.5-8m per year.

• The 2021-22 season was the first in which UEFA Union of European Football Associations permitted clubs to display a sleeve sponsor in its competitions.
