Technology: bodycams, connected scarves... innovations tested during FC Köln - AC Milan

German telecommunications operator Deutsche Telekom activated its partnership with 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) and hosted the "Innovation Game" versus AC Milan (Serie A TIM) at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne (2-1 victory for the Italian club) on Saturday 16/07/2022.

The German club worked with 16 startups to offer "unique experiences for fans" whether they were at the stadium, in front of the TV or on the move. 20 technological innovations initiated by the startups were used during the match, including:
• a "bodycam" attached to the shirts of two of FC Köln's players during the match, created by the Israeli company Mindfly;
• a "connected" club scarf used as a ticket to the match, created by the Swiss company CollectID;
• the implementation of a crowd management system that informs fans about waiting times at the stadium's refreshment facilities and toilets, by the German company Sonobeacon;
• highlights of the match available on video in portrait format, with the Israeli company WSC Sports;
• access to real-time player data (speed, acceleration, possession, strike power, etc.…
