Women's football: club teams to be included in EA Sports' "FIFA" video game for the first time

The US video game publisher EA Sports will include women's football club teams for the first time ever from the 2022-23 season in its upcoming FIFA 2023 game, announced the body on 20/07/2022. The game will be released on 30/09/2022.

Women's football clubs from the of the Barclays Women's Super League (England), the D1 Arkema (FRA), the NWSL (USA) and Flyeralarm Frauen-Bundesliga (Germany), in addition to the national teams and assets of the Women's World Cup 2023, will also be available for the first time in EA Sports' video game. Women's national teams were first introduced into the game in FIFA 16 (released in 2015).

EA Sports extended its licensing agreement with the French Football Federation (FFF) in order to include the twelve D1 Arkema teams from the 2022-23 season. "This exclusive contract, signed for a period of three years until 2025, will enable the D1 Arkema to make its entry into the EA Sports FIFA 23 game," said the FFF.
