Liverpool FC: a 300-tonne roof truss installed at Anfield as part of the stadium's expansion

Liverpool FC (Premier League) have installed a "300-tonne roof truss" at Anfield (Liverpool, ENG) as part of the stadium's expansion project to add 7,000 seats, which will increase the venue's total capacity (currently at 53,394) to more than 61,000, announced the Merseyside club, on 21/07/2022.

"Since September 2021, the construction work to bring 7,000 more supporters to Anfield has been taking shape impressively. With 12 months left of the build, hitting this milestone was hugely important ahead of the 2022-23 season, the last campaign during which the Reds will play home games in front of 54,000 supporters," said Liverpool FC. Work is expected to be completed by the start of the 2023-24 season. The total budget for the project is estimated at around £60m (€70m).

"Preparatory work started in May (2022) by building the two steel towers. Last weekend the two 60ft haunches were lifted into place ready to sit either side of the truss.
