FC Barcelona: Sixth Street acquires an additional 15% of the club's domestic TV rights (total: 25%)

Sixth Street, an international investment firm, has acquired an additional 15% share of the FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) broadcasting rights from LaLiga, for a period of 25 years, announced the club on 22/07/2022.

This new acquisition brings the firm's total share of the Catalan club's domestic TV rights to 25% over the period. Sixth Street had previously acquired 10% of these rights for €207.5m on 30/06/2022. Taking into account the new agreement, the investment company will pay a total of €519m to Barcelona, according to the Spanish specialised media 2Playbook on 22/07/2022.

The club's delegate members had voted in favour of both the sale of a 49.95% stake in Barça Licensing & Merchandising, the club's merchandising subsidiary dedicated to the development of its merchandising products (physical shops, online sales and licensed products), and a maximum of 25% of its LaLiga TV rights on 16/06/2022.
