Tour de France 2022: 41.5 million viewers in France watched the event on France Télévisions

"41.5 million French people, or 73% of the population, watched the Tour de France on our channels (42.4 million in 2021). In the 15-24 age group, there was 4.4 million viewers (65% of the population) and in the 15-34 age group, 8.4 million (65%). On average, a French person watched 5 hours 41 minutes of the Tour, i.e. 17 minutes more than in 2021, a record since 2011," announced the public audiovisual group France Télévisions on 25/07/2022.

"The afternoons on France 2: 4 million viewers on average and a 41.3% audience share (+200,000 compared to 2021 and +540,000 versus 2020), the best audience on the channel since 2011. Four stages exceeded 5 million viewers. The queen stage Briançon - Alpe d'Huez on 14/07/2022 drew an average of 6.4 million viewers (50.1% audience share), a record since 2003 for a stage of the Tour with a peak of 8.4 million viewers."
