The American pay-TV group DirecTV extended, on 01/10/2014, its broadcast rights in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America for "NFL Sunday Ticket" -- a package that makes broadcasts of games, produced by the national broadcasters Fox and CBS, available to subscribers outside the local market of the teams involved.

Details of the new agreement have not been made public. The contract, which was set expire at the end of the 2014-15 season, would be extended for eight seasons (2015-2023) and DirecTV would pay to the NFL $1.5bn (€1.19bn) per year, for a total of $12bn (about €9.5bn), according to the American sports media outlet ESPN. The broadcasting rights to NFL Sunday Ticket are valid for television, Internet and mobile platforms.
