Women's Euro 2022: England win their first ever European championship title at home

England were crowned UEFA Women's Euro 2022 champions after beating Germany (2-1 a.e.t) in the final at Wembley Stadium (89,000 capacity) in London (ENG) on Sunday 31/07/2022. This is England's first ever European Championship title.

The final of the Women's Euro was played in front of 87,192 spectators, a record attendance for a Euro match, men's games included.

England is the fifth country to win the competition since the first Women's Euro in 1984. Germany lead the way with eight titles, followed by Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and England, who each have one title.

• The 13^th edition of the Women's Euro was originally scheduled for 07/07 to 01/08/2021. It was postponed to 2022 by UEFA Union of European Football Associations on 23/04/2020, due to the pandemic and the postponement of the men's Euro 2020 to 2021.
