Serie A TIM: SS Lazio and Binance (crypto) market season tickets and match tickets as NFTs

SS Lazio (Serie A TIM) and its main sponsor Binance (crypto-assets) have launched a blockchain-based ticketing solution and are offering match tickets and season tickets as NFTs for the 2022-23 season, announced the club on 29/07/2022. The Hong Kong-based platform, which specialises in cryptocurrency exchanges, has been a partner of Lazio since October 2021.

"NFT ticketing marks an important step in the partnership between the club and Binance, bringing a higher level of fan engagement through blockchain-based solutions. The aim of the new NFT ticketing technology is to prevent issues such as ticket counterfeiting, scalping (resales at extortionate prices), as well as making ticketing systems more reliable. These features help to prevent disorder at major sporting events caused by counterfeiting and unauthorised resales," said Lazio.
