World Padel Tour: BT Sport acquires broadcasting rights in the UK & Ireland from 2022

The pay-TV operator BT Sport has acquired broadcasting rights to the World Padel Tour (WPT) from 2022, for the UK and Ireland, from the media group Mediapro, announced the professional circuit on 28/07/2022. The duration of the deal was not communicated.

"The best padel of the world will be added to BT Sport's impressive line-up, which includes the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, the Premier League, UFC, MotoGP, boxing, WWE and much more. This means WPT can now be seen on television in 121 different countries around the world across all continents," explained the World Padel Tour.

The World Padel Tour is a circuit created in 2013 and organised by Setpoint Events, a private entity owned by Iberian beer company Estrella Damm. The Spanish company purchased the minority stake (20%) that Rucio Investments acquired in May 2021 in Setpoint Events to become the sole owner of the organising company of the World Padel Tour on 21/07/2022.
