Clermont Foot 63: departure of Jérôme Champagne, adviser to club president Ahmet Schaefer

"A little over three years after his arrival at the club, Jérôme Champagne is leaving Clermont Foot 63 (Ligue 1 Uber Eats)," announced the club on 01/08/2022. The former French diplomat, who later went on to work for FIFA, was an advisor to Swiss president and owner Ahmet Schaefer (SUI).

"In charge of communication and political relations at Clermont Foot 63, he has taken an important part in the development of the club since the takeover in March 2019," added the Auvergne-based club, promoted to Ligue 1 for the first time in its history in the 2021-22 season.

"I sincerely thank Jérôme for everything he has contributed to the club since our arrival in March 2019. He has greatly contributed to the development of political relations at local and national level, to the implementation of a dynamic and modern communication strategy and he has brought us his experience. I will remember all the great moments we had together," said Ahmet Schaefer.
