The Football Association has launched a "request for proposal (RFP) tender process to appoint a partner to build a long-term NFT based platform, focused on the England senior men's and women's teams," announced the English body on 28/07/2022.

"The blockchain based digital technology will create new ways for fans to engage and interact with England teams and reach new global audiences, whilst generating a new stream of income over the long-term, to be invested back into the game," explained The FA.

"Intellectual property featured in the RFP to produce NFTs include current England player names and nicknames, authorised England match footage, player imagery, photographs and curated content, the Three Lions and Lionesses logos, The FA and St George's Park (training centre) logos, imagery of FA-owned artefacts such as England Caps, and St George's Park footage and imagery," continued the body. The IP rights to England national teams, Wembley Stadium (89,000 capacity) and The FA name and logos will continue to be owned exclusively by The FA itself.
